About Legit Athletics

A youth lacrosse club that started in Kirkland in 2014 and became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2024, so that more kids can play no matter what their family can spend.

Our story

Legit Lacrosse was founded in 2014 to grow youth lacrosse in Kirkland, and has served families in the Snoqualmie Valley since 2017. Over twelve seasons it grew into a club with travel teams from 3rd grade to varsity, year-round skills training and a summer camp at Tillicum Middle School in Bellevue.

As a private club, Legit gave families more than $200,000 in discounts and scholarships between 2022 and 2026. In 2024 we founded Legit Athletics as a nonprofit to keep doing that at a bigger scale, and to give every kid the chance to grow into a strong leader and teammate through sport.

We're a member of USA Lacrosse, the sport's national governing body, and every player on a Legit team holds a USA Lacrosse membership.

What we stand for

Our five values are also the five days of Legit camp, one for each day.

Family

Players, parents and coaches who back each other through wins, losses and injuries.

Community

We're rooted in the Pacific Northwest and work alongside hometown programs, not against them.

Integrity

Honesty, fair play and leading by example, on the field and off it.

Learning

Stay curious, ask questions, practice, and keep getting better as a player and a person.

Excellence

A standard, not a goal: pushing limits, and bringing leadership and resilience to everything.

Working with your hometown team

Legit is a supplement to high school and community lacrosse, not a replacement. We schedule around their seasons, and if a Legit event ever clashes with a player's hometown team, the hometown team comes first. Players or parents suspended by their community team for conduct can't take part in Legit programs either.

What wins games/tourneys though? Teamwork, hard work, and practice all being led by good coaching.

You have created a great team and very positive culture surrounding it for these boys.
